A striking generational tragicomedy, A Hoof Here, a Hoof There is a caustic group portrait of pals who enjoy a tipple, all kinds of hi-jinks and no-strings sexual adventures. Auditor Pepe, vet Dědek and restaurant manager František are financially secure and enjoy life with their similarly fun-loving girlfriends—at least until the moment when the brash Pepe collapses and ends up in hospital.

Milan Šteindler is a Czech actor and comedian, one of the founding members of the Prague-based Divadlo Sklep theatre. He is known for his absurdist humour and distinctive stage presence. He has been active in both theatre and film, with Divadlo Sklep remaining his artistic home since its founding in the 1980s.
Chantal Poullain is a French-Czech actress and singer who settled in the Czech Republic and became widely popular there. She is best known for her role in the TV series Ordinace v růžové zahradě. She also performs in theatre productions and is recognized for her distinctive French accent.
Věra Chytilová (1929–2014) was a Czech film director and one of the most distinctive figures of the Czechoslovak New Wave. Known for her provocative style and sharp social criticism, she is best remembered for Daisies (1966). Even during the normalization era she maintained her uncompromising authorial voice.
Jiří Bartoška is a Czech actor with a career spanning theatre and film, long associated with the National Theatre in Prague. He is also widely known as the longtime director of the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival. In the animated film Kopytem sem kopytem tam he provided a voice role.
