European Heritage Days is a pan-European initiative celebrating cultural wealth and historical heritage. The Municipal Theatre in Prostějov participates in this festival with a programme running from 16:00 to 17:30.

About the venue: Městské divadlo

Městské divadlo v Prostějově is housed in the Art Nouveau Národní dům, designed by architect Jan Kotěra and opened in 1907. The building has been a national cultural monument since 2008 - Kotěra wove Art Nouveau forms together with motifs from Haná folk art, right down to the lights, furniture and stained glass. Since 1992 the theatre has run a stagione programme, bringing in companies from across the country while also opening its stage to amateur groups and school performances. Around 250 to 300 events take place here each year.
