Petra Poláčková

Petra Poláčková will perform in the Concert Hall of the Baroque Refectory in Prague on Saturday, September 12, 2026 at 7:00 PM as part of the festival "Guitar Shines".

Petra Poláčková (born 1985) comes from Rožnov pod Radhoštěm and studied at the Pardubice Conservatory and the University of Music and Dramatic Arts in Graz, where she pursued lute and viola da gamba alongside guitar. She currently teaches at the Franz Liszt University of Music in Weimar, performs regularly, leads masterclasses, and serves on festival juries worldwide.

She specializes in historically informed interpretation of Baroque and Romantic music, as documented by her solo albums "WEISS" (2020) and "J. K. Mertz" (2025), both recorded on a nine-string Romantic guitar. She is involved in organizing the Mikulov Guitar Festival and plays both historical and modern instruments made by builders such as Domingo Esteso, Martin Šuk, and Jan Tuláček.
