Odyssey

Odysseus was the king of the Greek island of Ithaca who, according to legend and the poet Homer, invented the famous Trojan Horse - a trick that decided the fall of Troy and ended the exhausting siege of the city.

After the battles end, Odysseus desires only one thing: to return home to his wife Penelope and son Telemachus. Yet by his actions he has angered the gods, who will make his journey as difficult as possible. This is why the word "odyssey" became a synonym for a journey full of obstacles that take the wanderer further from his goal rather than closer to it.

While Odysseus faces giants, the enchantress Circe, and other perils, his wife Penelope at home resists the men who seek both her and the entire kingdom of Ithaca.
