Placzek: Rabbis, Scholars and Witnesses to History

The story of the Placzek family is one of the most remarkable chapters in the history of Moravian Jewry. It begins in Boskovice, where Abraham Placzek moved the seat of the Moravian regional rabbi's office in the 19th century, from which he significantly influenced the religious and social life of the entire country. From there, the fates of his descendants spread across Brno to the entire world.

Author Barbora Dočkalová will present her new publication "Placzek: Rabbis, Scholars and Witnesses to History", sharing extraordinary stories of several generations of this exceptional family - from Abraham and Baruch Placzek through world-renowned physicist Georg Placzek to their descendants who today are rediscovering their Moravian roots.
