Ořechovka - A Successful Garden City Experiment — Ořechovka Tram Stop, Prague
Description was written before the event

Prague extends far beyond its historic centre. In the 20th century, garden suburbs emerged on its outskirts, preserving traces of outstanding architecture to this day.

In 1919, a competition was held for the construction of family homes and apartments for the Association of State and Other Public Employees. From 38 submitted projects, the design by Jaroslav Vondrák and Jan Šenkýř's studio won. Participants will see terraced houses reminiscent of English and Dutch small towns, as well as villas built for Václav Špála, Otakar Španiel, Emil Filla and other artists. The area also holds places with a tragic wartime history.
