Less to Have, More to Be: Circularity in Everyday Life — Kampus Hybernská, Prague
Description was written before the event

What if circular economy wasn't just a topic for businesses and strategies, but a practical guide for everyday life? Soňa Klepek Jonášová's lecture will present circularity principles through examples everyone knows: when it makes sense to rent instead of own, why second-hand doesn't have to be a compromise, how to extend the life of things you already have, and where you unnecessarily pay for the convenience of disposability.

Participants will learn how to think about the value of things differently than through purchase price, why "new" doesn't always mean better, and how small everyday choices can save money, space, and the planet. You'll take home concrete tips applicable at home, at work, and while shopping.

Speaker: Soňa Klepek Jonášová is the founder of INCIEN and one of the prominent Czech figures in the field of circular economy. She has long connected business, the public sector, and expert communities around sustainability and systemic change. At INCIEN, she currently focuses on circular economy advocacy - among other things, she leads the Partnership for Building Residential Buildings from Low-Emission Materials project, which aims to establish quality and environmental criteria in public procurement and shift construction toward more sustainable practices. She is also a member of the Sustainability Committee at Škoda Auto and a board member of Change for the Better.

The lecture is part of the Dokola Festival, taking place on September 10-11, 2026 at Kampus Hybernská. The festival is organized by the Institute of Circular Economy (INCIEN) with the support of the City of Prague.
