Countess

The year is 1958. Elizabeth Anna Marie, Countess of Landsdorf and Scheinberg - now registered as a domestic worker named Landsdorfova - returns to her nationalized castle in defiance of a court ban to celebrate her seventieth birthday in her hometown.
The Countess is disagreeable, stubborn, insufferable, yet at the same time touching, generous, ironic and self-ironic, above all wise and noble, with a sense of perspective that no one can take from her. In carrying out her plan, she is aided by former employees led by the butler Alois - despite the constant threat posed by the regime.
