Massive Kathak (Anežka Hessová & Omnion)

Massive Kathak is a music and dance performance where traditional North Indian kathak dance meets live electroacoustic world music. On stage are actress, dancer and musician Anežka Hessová and multi-instrumentalist, composer and tabla player Tomáš Reindl, known as Omnion.

Kathak is a classical dance style from northern India with roots in the tradition of storytellers - it still surprises with its raw energy and unexpected rhythmic forms. Anežka Hessová combines it with acting and music (vocals, accordion), while Omnion brings his electroacoustic world music. The two artists have collaborated for many years, previously working together in the dance-music project Damaru with Ivana Hessová and Elena Kubičková, before creating the Massive Kathak concept, which they continue to develop.
