The 8th Doll and Teddy Bear Festival takes place at Měšťanská beseda in Plzeň as a two-day event. This year's theme is SPARKLE - if you come in a sparkly costume or bring a sparkly item, you'll receive a discount on admission and a chance to win the main prize.

More than 40 exhibitors will showcase collections of dolls (modern, retro, antique, and reborn), teddy bears, and prams. Artists from Vienna, Germany, and Spain will also attend to demonstrate doll and teddy bear making. The programme includes expert talks, workshops for making your own doll or teddy bear, and a pram ride through Plzeň.

Children's games are set up at selected stalls - playing with teddy bears or a demonstration of cleaning a doll's house. The festival will also feature a raffle and prize competitions. Additionally, a world champion bartender will perform a show full of tricks.

About the venue: Měšťanská Beseda

Měšťanská beseda is a Neo-Renaissance building with Art Nouveau décor, erected by the Pilsen citizens' association in 1901 and ceremonially opened on 29 December of that year. Following an extensive renovation completed in 2005, it serves as one of the most important cultural centres in Pilsen. The venue houses several halls and salons, the Beseda Cinema, the Jonáš Theatre and an Art Nouveau café, with a total capacity of over 1,000 persons. Concerts, theatre performances, balls, film screenings, festivals, lectures and children's events take place here almost daily. The building is a listed cultural monument and received the Building of the Year 2005 award.
