Performance with two 16mm projectors and one variable-speed 16mm projector synchronized with live accompaniment.

The work moves through layers of memory in places where silver has been mined for centuries - silver that lent Europe its splendor and shaped its audacious image. There is no silver left in these places now. Nor much remains in the film images: it was here, but we bleached it so you could see the colors. Whether film stock or ravaged earth - what remains when all wealth has been extracted?

This alchemical archaeology of personal Super8 films shot long ago in Buenos Aires, Montevideo, La Paz and elsewhere reveals the relationship between representation and its sources, between figure and apparent background, between memory and sight, between Western paternalism and other possible modes of existence.
