Tomáš Přibyl – From Earth (Again) to the Moon

Tomáš Přibyl, a publicist, journalist, and space exploration expert, curator of aviation and cosmonautics at the Brno Technical Museum and editor of the Kosmonautix website, will deliver a lecture on lunar missions in the context of the recently completed Artemis II mission. Přibyl has personally visited all NASA space centers, met more than 260 cosmonauts, and witnessed the launch of all American space shuttles. He is the author of numerous non-fiction books, including "Death Had a Name: Challenger", "The Day Columbia Did Not Return", "Treasures of Cosmonautics", and "The Conquest of the Moon".

In this lecture, Přibyl will discuss the results and findings of the Artemis II mission and what comes next: if a lunar landing attempt is scheduled, who will be fastest – the USA or China? At stake are prestige, technology, economics, and the future. The lecture takes place in the Komorní klub in the historic Jubilejní kolonie building in Ostrava-Hrabůvka.
