An exhibition prepared in collaboration with the Institute of Art History of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic explores what happened to noble estates after they were confiscated in 1945 based on presidential decrees. The exhibition is installed in front of the gate to the courtyard of Slatiňany State Castle and is accessible free of charge. Visitors will learn about the relationship of the nobility to the new republic and the Protectorate, the work of the National Cultural Commission, and what became of the furnishings of confiscated estates—all illustrated through the examples of Slatiňany and Heřmanův Městec castles. The exhibition runs from March 5 to October 31, 2026. The authors are Kristina Uhlíková, Dita Jelínková Homolová, Jitka Císařová, Jan Uhlík, Petr Janák, Jaroslav Bušta, and Adéla Buštová.
