Czech Nature Photo 2026 – Best Nature Photography at Prague Castle
Pražský hrad, Prague
The jubilee 10th edition of the Czech Nature Photo exhibition takes place in the Theresian Wing of the Old Royal Palace at Prague Castle from May 20 to September 13, 2026. The exhibition presents nearly 200 fascinating images of wildlife from around the world, captured by Czech and Slovak photographers selected from the Czech Nature Photo competition. The jury chose from over two thousand images submitted by 249 photographers. The photographs are represented across all 13 competition categories – from traditional ones (mammals, birds, landscape, invertebrates) through specialized categories (series, animals in human care, urban wildlife) to new additions: the Creative Vision category and the special Canon Water Protection Award focused on water conservation. The rescue of marine corals inspired the new design trophy for the overall winner, created by the glassmaking company Lasvit with support from LAUFEN CZ. The exhibition is held under the patronage of Eva Pavlová, wife of the Czech president. Entry to the exhibition is from the South Gardens or via the Bull Staircase from the Third Courtyard of Prague Castle. Open daily from 10 to 18 hours. The exhibition includes an accompanying programme: guided tours with curators and award-winning photographers, and a Day with Czech Nature Photo, when nature photographers discuss their work. Note: from March 21 to July 17, 2026, the Prague Castle and Royal Summer Palace tram stops are out of service; it is recommended to use the Pohořelec, Brusnice, or Prašný most stops.
