Vzlet, Prague

Description was written before the event

The fourth edition of the Czech Radio Plus international conference "Fragile Security – The Future of Ukraine and the European Continent" will focus on Ukraine's future, European security, and the media landscape surrounding the conflict. The conference has been held annually since 2023 and is open to both experts and the general public.

Key speakers at this year's edition include Nobel Peace Prize laureate Oleksandra Matviyenko, American journalist Simon Shuster, and Polish analyst Slawomir Sierakowski. In the final part of the programme, Czech President Petr Pavel will speak, followed by Valeriy Zaluzhnyy, former commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (currently Ukraine's ambassador to the United Kingdom), and Karel Řehka, Chief of the General Staff of the Czech Armed Forces, who will assess the so-called "Ukrainian lessons" for Czech security and the military.

The programme also includes selected shows from Czech Radio Plus: a presentation of a new project about the trial of Nazi war criminal Karel Hermann Frank, and a live recording of the debate show "Pro and Against" dedicated to the limits of freedom of speech. Media coverage is provided by Czech Radio stations and websites, as well as partners within the European Broadcasting Union (EBU).
