Philosophy for Life
"Would you like to better understand yourself and the world around you? Do you have questions and seek answers? There are many ways to find them. And philosophy has offered one such path since ancient times."
The course "Philosophy for Life" presents philosophy as an understandable and practically applicable tool for everyday life - not as abstract theory. Participants will become familiar with key ideas from great civilizations, compare them, and explore the connections between them. The course also covers topics of ethics, human values, coexistence, and the laws of history.
Course topics: Natural philosophy, Humanity and the universe, The legacy of ancient India, Mysteries of Tibet, Buddhist philosophy, The wisdom of China, Life's challenge in society, Plato and the "Myth of the Cave", Aristotle, Plotinus and the Neoplatonic school, The importance of education, Egypt, Rome and the Stoics, History, memory and experience, History and mythology, Historical cycles, Freedom and fate, Psychology exercises
The course consists of 17 blocks of lectures and practical psychology exercises. Lectures take place once a week, with each block containing two teaching hours (2 × 45 minutes). Registration is available through the online form.
