David Dorůžka & Robert Fischmann & Martin Novák

Guitarist David Dorůžka is an active professional musician since his teens - he has performed worldwide, collaborated with numerous international artists, and lived for extended periods in New York and Paris. After projects with Lizz Wright, Jeff Ballard, and Hilmar Jensson, he returns to performing with Czech musicians.

In his new trio with flutist Robert Fischmann and drummer Martin Novák, they build on Dorůžka's album Autumn Tales (2016) and develop music rooted in Jewish traditions of Europe and the Middle East. Working with both older and newer material with great freedom, traditional Hasidic melodies alternate rapidly with metalcore passages, and medieval Spanish melodies sit alongside inspirations from the New York downtown scene.
