Guitarist Gerald Clark from South Africa is a storyteller. He plays lively, driving rock'n'roll and occasionally blues - he calls himself a bluesman, but his songs and a few standards by Freddie King or Muddy Waters are more joyful and danceable than traditional twelve-bar blues. On his battered Fender, he plays fingerstyle like a folk musician, bringing out the pick only for solos. No calculation, no rehearsed tricks - just joyful music.

Back home in South Africa, he has won several awards for best live performance and non-commercial multi-genre music. His song As Crow Flies brought him wider attention when Volkswagen used it in an advertising campaign for the Amarok model.
