Psychedelic Cinema: The Last Shaman

The latest edition of Psychedelic Cinema takes place on September 28 at Gabriel Loci, featuring the documentary The Last Shaman. Following the screening, there will be a discussion in Czech with Ondřej Bahník, an Amazonian guide and expert in South American cultures.

Director Raz Degan follows the story of James Freeman, a young man who travels to the Amazon jungle after being diagnosed with incurable depression. There he encounters traditional plant medicine ayahuasca and the culture surrounding it, seeking deeper understanding of himself and his own identity.

Ondřej Bahník has devoted over 16 years to herbalism, healing, and personal development. He completed Grof Transpersonal Training and works both individually and in groups, focusing on integrating expanded states of consciousness and supporting people in psychospiritual crisis. He regularly visits indigenous peoples of the Amazon and Andes, particularly the Inga and Kamëntsá tribes. He co-founded the Asaya association and collaborates on a project sharing knowledge from traditional guides and healers of the Amazon and Mesoamerica under the Venezuelan Association of the United Nations (ANUV).

Psychedelic Cinema is a regular film screening series with psychedelic themes organized by the Czech Psychedelic Society, always followed by discussion with experts.
