Sunday Dixie: Prague Dixieland Society

As part of the Sunday Dixie series, the Prague Dixieland Society performs at Jazz Dock.

PDS is a band of young Prague musicians united by their love of classic jazz. Trumpeter Jakub Ševčík founded it in 2017 with the aim of playing 1920s and 1930s jazz as it sounded in New Orleans - in traditional instrumentation with trumpet, clarinet, trombone, banjo, sousaphone and drums, complemented by piano. Improvisation is at the heart of their playing.
