Traditional celebrations of Miners' Day this year combine with the 20th anniversary of the Friends of Mining Traditions Club. Enjoy rides on the mine train and the Poldi train.

About the venue: Hornický skanzen Mayrau

The Mayrau Mining Open-Air Museum in Vinařice near Kladno occupies the site of a former coal mine, sunk by the Prague Iron Company from 1874. It is a branch of the Sládečkovo Regional Museum in Kladno and operates on the concept of the "last working day" - the premises look as though the miners left only yesterday. The tour takes visitors from the guild room through the chain-locker changing rooms and lamp room to the shaft buildings. Three original winding engines survive on site; the Art Nouveau Ringhoffer steam engine from 1905 is demonstrated in motion.
