A small town somewhere in the north. By the river, the brutally murdered body of a young girl named Anna is discovered. The investigation is taken over by criminal investigator Laura Linhartová (Kristýna Ryška), who is assigned a long-time colleague Adam Beneš (Kryštof Hádek). A recently convicted offender with a similar murder on his record becomes the prime suspect.

Just when the investigation seems nearly complete, new evidence emerges and the entire case returns to square one. The circle of suspects in the small town expands dramatically, the investigation fills with unexpected twists, and the tension between Laura and Adam - fueled by their contrasting personalities and shared past - continues to grow.

And the question still hangs in the air: Who killed Anna Pittnerová?
