Art Up Close: Exoticism and Distant Lands

A guided tour from the "Art Up Close" series will focus on the theme of exoticism and distant lands in the 1918-1938 exhibition: The First Republic. Art historian Markéta Čejková will lead visitors through selected works - from paintings by Paul Gauguin and Maxim Kopf to still lifes from Mallorca and works by Sulamit Rahu and Václav Vojtěch Novák's mysterious African woman.

Each tour in this series concentrates on a specific part of the collection and places the chosen theme within a broader context that helps visitors better understand the whole.
