FaVU VUT – Surfaces & Spaces

The exhibition Surfaces & Spaces presents the work of students and graduates from two studios of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Brno University of Technology – the Studio of Spatial Creation and the Studio of Drawing and Graphic Arts. The Studio of Spatial Creation works with forms ranging from sculptural objects through installations, kinetic and audiovisual works to site-specific interventions. The common thread of the presented works is an emphasis on material experience, the physical presence of the artwork in space, and engagement with movement, sound, light, and time. The Studio of Drawing and Graphic Arts approaches both media as an open field – drawing often transcends the notion of surface and functions as an autonomous statement, a capture of gesture, or a means of analyzing space and the body. The exhibited works oscillate between delicacy and destruction, between documentation and object. The exhibition includes installations, objects, and experimental approaches that reflect contemporary post-digital times and push the boundaries of traditional media. The exhibition builds on three previous student exhibitions held in the Liberec gallery. Exhibiting artists: Šimon Chovan, Adam Hejduk, Meadeh Hoseini, David Koronczi, Mikuláš Mitana, Daniela Ponomarevová, Denisa Ponomarevová, Alois Sklenář, Berenika Syrová, Magdalena Šimurdová, Lukáš Vacek, Zuzana Zemanová. The exhibition runs until July 15, 2026. The accompanying programme includes a guided tour on June 25, 2026 at 5:00 PM.
