Two Decis of Ink

Two Decilitres of Ink is a biographical documentary film directed by Ester Geislerová, daughter of Petr Geisler (1949-2009), a Japanologist, translator, journalist, educator, and calligrapher.

Through photographs, home videos, letters, and memories, the film constructs a portrait of an exceptionally educated and original man who remained mysteriously elusive even to those closest to him. Geislerová captures her father's exceptional place in Czech cultural life at the end of the twentieth century while maintaining an intimate, family perspective - both joyful and painful.
