The Disappearing Man

A dance-music statement about the constant need for stimulation, escape, and the search for the present moment.

This intimate double evening by dancer Andrej Štepita and musician Štěpan Janoušek is an authorial solo project by two distinctive figures from Farma v jeskyni, unfolding in the liminal space between movement and sound.

A man-guide embarks on a journey whose path emerges only beneath his steps. He shares so much with everyone that he forgets who he is. The musical composition becomes a performative reflection on what it means to be today - and gradually to disappear. Presence transforms into absence, sound into memory, and human gesture into a digital trace.

Andrej Štepita is a graduate of the Bratislava Academy of Performing Arts and the Salzburg Experimental Dance Academy (SEAD). He is a performer, educator, and creator working in contemporary dance and physical theatre. He has long collaborated with Farma v jeskyni (Commander, Czech Hero, Shelter, Oscillation) and with ensembles in Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and Austria. He is the founder of the Tanečno Festival and collective.

Štěpan Janoušek is a trombonist, singer, composer, and improviser. He studied trombone at the Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory and is currently studying composition at HAMU in Prague. He has collaborated with Farma v jeskyni since 2017.
