Director Jiří Mádl's film "Vlny" tells the little-known stories of journalists at Czechoslovak Radio. In the late 1960s, the older of two brothers joins a prestigious radio newsroom and soon finds himself in a dangerous clash with the secret police.

As events spiral, everyone's life is at stake, and the protagonist faces a brutal choice: protect his brother, or the truth and his colleagues?

The film is inspired by the true story of journalists in the international desk of Czechoslovak Radio and their determination to bring independent news at any cost.
