Director Jiří Mádl's film "Waves" tells the little-known stories of Czechoslovak Radio journalists in the late 1960s - a time when rock and roll filled the airwaves and student revolutions shook Europe. The older of two brothers joins a prestigious radio newsroom and soon finds himself in a dangerous clash with the secret police. Lives hang in the balance, and the protagonist faces a brutal choice: protect his brother, or defend the truth and his colleagues?

The film is based on the true story of journalists in the international desk of Czechoslovak Radio and their determination to deliver independent reporting at any cost.
