Chica Checa

Fifty-three-year-old Zdena appears to live an ordinary life as a rural postal worker - her house is falling apart, and she fills her solitude with pickles and television. Her son Lukáš lives in France, successful and happy, or so it seems through the screen of an old computer, where they occasionally stay in touch.

When ninety-year-old grandmother Věra expresses her final wish - to see Helena Vondráčková - it seems like the whim of a dying woman. But Lukáš's return home brings a secret he has carefully guarded for years: he is gay and works as a drag queen named Chica Checa.

The attempt to fulfill grandmother's wish will bring Lukáš and Zdena closer - and reveal that she too is not living the life she wants. Because when you stop lying to those closest to you, you must stop lying to yourself.
