Guided Tour of the Janoušek Spouses' Sculpture Studio

The sculpture studio of Vladimír and Věra Janouškovi stands in Prague's Košíře district on U Kotlářky street, at the foot of the Skalka nature reserve. The artists built it themselves in the early 1960s on the site of a former nursery from the First Republic. The plans, based on Janoušek's design, were drawn up by architect Josef Hrubý, one of the authors of the Czechoslovak pavilion at Expo 58 in Brussels. The house was later renovated according to a design by Alena Šrámková to serve as a residence, and became Věra's permanent home.

The studio now houses a permanent exhibition of sculptural works by both spouses, with monumental sculptures installed in the garden. The studio is open to the public through guided tours.
