Art Up Close: Mařák's School

A guided tour of the exhibition "1796-1918: Art of a Long Century" at the Trade Fair Palace with educator Monika Švec Sybolová. The tour focuses on the Mařák School - one of the most significant landscape painting schools in late 19th-century Bohemia. Participants will stop at works by Julius Mařák, Antonín Slavíček, František Kaván and Otakar Lebeda, and explore landscapes of the Podkrkonoší region, the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands, and the Šumava primeval forest.

The tour is part of the "Close-up on Art" series, which focuses on specific parts of the collections and places them in broader contexts.
