Jewish Cemetery in Opava - Personalities and Symbolism

Guided tour of the Jewish cemetery in Opava, part of the municipal cemetery on Otická Street. The tour presents the fates of notable people buried here - Max Breda, one of the founders of the Breda & Weinstein department store, Rabbi Abraham Blüh of the Opava Jewish community, David Hatscheck, owner of a jute factory, and the founders of Opava liqueur distilleries. The presentation also covers vanished cemeteries in the city and Jewish customs.

Meeting point: main gate of the Municipal Cemetery. Estimated tour duration: 90 minutes. Tickets available on GoOut, at the reception of the Municipal House, or on-site. The tour is cancelled in case of severe weather.
