Odysseus (Matt Damon) was the king of the Greek island of Ithaca who, according to legend and the poet Homer, invented the famous Trojan Horse - the trick that decided Troy's fall. After the battles end, he desires only to return home to his wife Penelope (Anne Hathaway) and son Telemachus (Tom Holland). Through his actions, however, he has angered the gods, who will make his journey home as difficult as possible.

While Odysseus resists the gods, giants, and the seductive sorceress Circe, his wife Penelope at home faces men who seek to seize her and the entire kingdom of Ithaca.
