Maranatha Gospel Choir

Maranatha Gospel Choir is a Prague-based gospel ensemble founded in 2006 and has been performing actively ever since. It ranks among the largest gospel choirs in the Czech Republic; in a club setting, it performs in a smaller formation of around 12 singers.

The choir is accompanied by a band of professional musicians: Jan Bálek (keys, TOP Dream Company, The Documents, Los Quemados, Xindl X), Ondřej Pomajsl (drums, Vltava, Los Quemados, Roman Dragoun and his Angels), Radim Genčev (bass guitar, The Documents, Xindl X, Madfinger), and Karel Bárta (guitar, Alo Trio Band, Tonny Blues Band, Tonya Graves Band).

The repertoire features songs by gospel artists such as Kirk Franklin, Brian Fentress, and Claes Wegener, as well as new original compositions - music by Radim Genčev, Czech lyrics by Ondřej Ládek. The choir collaborates on the acrobatic musical "Heaven" by Bravo! theatre and includes gospel arrangements of pop hits by Michael Jackson, Coldplay, George Michael, and others.
