"Sir, You Are a Widow!"

A sci-fi comedy from 1970 by the creative duo Václav Vorlíček and Miloš Macourek, set in a fictional Central European kingdom ruled by the enlightened King Rosebud IV. Unlike other films by this pair, this is an absurd black comedy that introduced a range of themes and techniques - including an effective "body swap" achieved simply by dubbing one actor over another - which Vorlíček and Macourek would develop further in their later works.

Bizarre characters come to life through perfectly cast performances: the energetic Kelettiová played by Iva Janžurová, the good-natured cook Bob portrayed by Jan Libíček, the beautiful Molly played by Olga Schoberová, and the gleefully mad murderer Fany Stubová, played by Helena Růžičková.
