Mitsuha lives in a small mountain town and dreams of life in Tokyo. Taki is a high school student from Tokyo who feels lost in the chaos of the big city. When they wake up one day in each other's bodies, a strange bond forms between them - an intricate game of dreams, memories, and coincidences.

With each exchange, their lives become more intertwined, until the connection suddenly vanishes. Taki sets out to find the girl he has never met, yet who has become part of his life.
