Robert Balzar Trio currently consists of bassist Robert Balzar, pianist Vít Křištan, and drummer Kamil Slezák. Dan Bárta has been collaborating with them since 1999, and their joint work - moving between jazz and pop - is partly conceptual and synthetic. The band and both protagonists have repeatedly won music awards and performed not only in numerous European countries but also in the USA.

About the venue: Vyšehrad

Vyšehrad is a historic fortress on a rocky promontory above the right bank of the Vltava, roughly 3 km southeast of Prague Castle. It originated as a princely stronghold in the second half of the 10th century, and in the late 11th century King Vratislav II - the only Czech ruler to do so - made it his seat. The complex was rebuilt as a Baroque military fortress in the 17th century and has been a national cultural monument since 1962. Highlights include the neo-Gothic Basilica of St Peter and Paul, the national cemetery Slavín, the Romanesque Rotunda of St Martin, and an extensive network of underground casemates.

One of the most respected Czech singers of the past three decades - an eleven-time Anděl Award winner - Dan Bárta brings his band Illustratosphere, whose sound has blended jazz, soul and pop since 2000. Past collaborators include Bobby McFerrin and Dominic Miller; the current tour marks 25 years since the debut album.
