About the venue: Spanish Synagogue

The Spanish Synagogue is the youngest synagogue of the former Prague Jewish Town, built in 1868 by architects Vojtěch Ignác Ullmann and Josef Niklas on the site of the oldest Prague house of prayer, the Old School. It takes its name from its Moorish Revival interior inspired by the Spanish Alhambra, featuring ornate stucco arabesques, gilding, and stained glass. Today it forms part of the Prague Jewish Town sightseeing circuit and hosts a permanent exhibition on the history of Jews in the Bohemian Lands (19th–20th centuries) as well as chamber music concerts.

About: Michaela Šrůmová

Michaela Šrůmová is a Prague-born operatic soprano who trained at the State Conservatory under prof. Olga Jiráková. After graduating she took part in the Emmy Destinn International Singing Competition and became a regular collaborator of the FOK orchestra. Her work spans oratorio and concert repertoire, and she has performed in Germany, France, Sweden, Japan and beyond.

A cornerstone of Czech orchestral life for over three decades, Kejmar shaped the sound of the Czech Philharmonic's brass section and left a lasting mark on the recorded baroque trumpet repertoire - and he is still performing today.
