Masterclass: "How to see light"

How does light change the meaning and atmosphere of a scene? In this introductory workshop, gaffer Erik Žila - who lit the feature films Chica Checa and Útěk and the series Inspekce - will guide participants through the fundamentals of film lighting.

Together with Erik, participants will analyze selected films from the perspective of light and then apply the principles they learn in practice by lighting a black-and-white scene. The workshop explores questions such as: how many lights are needed, what role does each light source play, and how do different lighting schemes shape the final image.

The workshop is designed for anyone who wants to better understand film lighting and use it to strengthen the visual language of their films.
