A studio Rubín: In the Mirror Hall
Činoherní studio města Ústí nad Labem, Ústí nad Labem
A comic pop-up concert based on Swedish author Liv Strömquist's work.
Beauty is magic, drug, power and curse - at the same time a product, capital and eternal memento mori. Social media both mediate and consume it, and losing it means losing a trump card in capitalism's unfair game. We know that women are valued far more by their appearance, that attractive people are attributed more positive qualities by society and given better opportunities - but what are the chances of liberation when capitalism turns every revolt into a new product?
Four actresses will guide you through the jungle of perfect faces on social media, the dark forest of Snow White's murder, and the royal court of Empress Sissi. What is it really like with self-image on Instagram? And why shouldn't women strive to be liked when it is perfectly clear that it matters?
