Tove

Helsinki, 1945. The end of the war brings painter Tove Jansson a sense of artistic and personal freedom. The stories about creatures called "Moomins" that she told to frightened children in air-raid shelters soon take on a life of their own, bringing her international fame and financial independence.

Her freedom is tested, however, when she meets theatre director Vivica Bandler, who ignites an intense and consuming love within her. Tove searches for her own artistic identity while yearning for love that will be returned - and only by finding her own path can she learn to be truly free.
