The Philharmonic Ensemble Orchestra Tokyo Japan will perform their third concert in the Czech Republic in September 2026, this time at the Besední dům in Brno. The concert is an official part of the Mladá Praha International Music Festival, which has supported young musicians from around the world since 1992 and promotes international cultural exchange - the festival has hosted artists from over 30 countries.

On stage, the orchestra will perform alongside pianist and conductor Kento Satsuma. The programme features Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5 and Berlioz's Symphonie fantastique.

About the venue: Besední dům

The Neo-Renaissance building on Komenského náměstí was built in 1870-1873 to designs by the Danish-Austrian architect Theophil von Hansen. From its opening it served as the cultural and social hub of Brno's Czech community - Leoš Janáček worked here as choirmaster for twelve years. On 29 October 1918 the founding of Czechoslovakia was proclaimed from its balcony. Today it is home to Filharmonie Brno and hosts symphonic and chamber concerts, balls and conferences.
