Odyssey

Odysseus, king of the Greek island of Ithaca, is credited in legend and Homer's epics with creating the famous Trojan Horse, which sealed Troy's fate. After the battles end, he desires only one thing - to return home to his wife Penelope and son Telemachus.

But his bold deeds have angered the gods, who will make his journey home as difficult as possible. This is why the word "odyssey" has become synonymous with a pilgrimage full of obstacles that lead the wanderer away from his goal rather than toward it.

While Odysseus faces gods, giants, and the enchantress Circe, his wife Penelope at home resists the men who seek both her hand and the entire kingdom of Ithaca.
