Rather Go Mad in the Wilderness

A film by director Mira Rema (Richard Müller: The Unknown, Love Under the Hood) loosely develops the theme of the eponymous book by Aleš Palán and Jan Šibík about Šumava hermits. The film follows twins František and Ondřej Klišík - eternal children living in a magical world with their pets.

Every day they share the same routine and thoughts, outwardly appearing as mirrors of each other, but inside they are two completely different souls. Years of inseparable coexistence begin to overwhelm them: Franta dreams of escape and a world beyond the walls that bind him, Ondra remains rooted in what he knows well.

The film won the main prize at the Karlovy Vary festival.
