Rewrite History in Ostrava: How Miners Were Tamed and Colonies Built

The podcast "Rewrite History" comes to Kino Luna in Ostrava. Historian Michal Stehlík and publicist Martin Groman will focus on two Ostrava topics: political trials of mining engineers in the early 1950s and workers' colonies that shaped the city's character and daily life for generations.

The programme will touch on social inequality, community life, and industrial landscape - and also why colonies remain an important part of Ostrava's identity today. The broader question of how we reshape the past as a society will also be explored.
