What Lies Beneath the Ground - Archaeological Discoveries Under the Janáček Cultural Centre

A rescue archaeological excavation prompted by the construction of the Janáček Cultural Centre has revealed extensive knowledge about the development of this part of the royal city from its founding in the early 13th century to the present day. The research has illuminated the origins and form of the city's fortifications and brought one of the largest collections of finds in the history of Brno archaeology - some objects are unique in their categories.

You will have the opportunity to discuss these discoveries directly with archaeologist Mgr. Antonín Zůbek, Ph.D. from Archaia Brno, who participated in the research. The intimate discussion will offer space for presenting the most interesting finds and for questions and answers about what the uncovered soil layers reveal about Brno's past.

At the end of the event, you can participate in the "Urban centrum celebrates 20 years" competition by filling out a competition ticket.
