Public Space by František Skála

A documentary film follows František Skála - a visual artist, performer, and musician - as he moves through public space. With humor, seriousness, and self-irony, it reveals beauty in imperfection, poetry in the ordinary, and the joy of creation as a way of life.

A significant part of the film documents the creation of a monumental dog sculpture, Vulpes Gott: from model-making to its journey by boat down the Elbe to an opening in Dresden. The narrative weaves together the artist's diaries and objects in public space - his first sculpture in Veltrusy castle park, Prastánek, and Rajská zahrada on Sluňákova.

The film features František Skála's friends, the band Třaskavá směs, the brass ensemble Provodovjané, and philosopher Miroslav Petříček. Skála is also known from Divadlo Sklep, the group Tvrdohlaví, the ensemble Tros Sketos, and M.T.O. Universal.
