Kiko's Bop Jam #7 welcomes an international guitar trio to Ponava, performing jazz standards in original arrangements with space for improvisation and musical dialogue.

The stage will feature three guests: Alf Carlsson (Sweden) - guitarist, composer and educator whose work blends jazz with elements of Scandinavian folk and modern improvisation; Vilém Spilka (Czech Republic) - guitarist, educator and founder of JazzFestBrno; Kristián Kuruc (Slovakia) - drummer dedicated to both traditional and modern jazz, performing regularly at home and abroad.

Admission: 100 CZK in advance (students and those on a tight budget), 150 CZK standard ticket in advance, 200 CZK at the door. Performers get two beers on us!

About the venue: Ponava Cafe

Ponava Cafe is a café and music club on the edge of Lužánky park in central Brno, right next to the conservatory. It offers specialty coffee, quality beer, and a varied cultural programme focused on jazz, alternative, folk, and blues. The intimate interior hosts small concerts, author readings, and exhibitions, while in summer events move outdoors. The venue organises the annual four-day Ponava Fest and also runs the online Radio Ponava.

Kristián Kuruc is a Czech jazz musician and composer, winner of the Anděl Award (the Czech Grammy equivalent). He is an emerging figure on the Czech contemporary jazz and improvised music scene. He appears as part of the Brünnwerk project alongside other notable Czech composers and improvisers.
