Experience the Book with Dana Lédl/Myokard

Vindyšova továrna, Prague

from 300 Kč · ≈ 12 €

A workshop for children aged 5+ with illustrator Dana Lédl (also known as Myokard), based on her work with the book Tota the Flying Girl. Through drawing, collage, and creative activities, children will restore colour to landscapes, people, and nature, and together create a Tree of Freedom filled with colourful leaves. The session lasts 2 hours with a capacity of 20 children.

Tota the Flying Girl is the debut children's book by Nina Špitálníková (winner of the Magnesia Litera award). A girl named Tota wanders the world dreaming of distant places—until her grandfather's memories of totalitarianism touch her heart. She sets out to a distant totalitarian land to see it with her own eyes and decides to help its people. The book introduces young readers to the mechanisms of totalitarianism through a compelling narrative.

Dana Lédl (Myokard) is a Czech illustrator, graphic designer, and visual artist. She has illustrated books including Testimony on Life in North Korea (2020) and Northerner (2023). She was nominated for the Golden Ribbon award for the visual design of the anthology Five Minutes Before the Bell Rings (2024), and for Czech Grand Design for her covers for Respekt magazine.

Books are available for purchase on site, and the illustrator will sign them upon request.
