On Thursday, September 3, 2026 at 18:30, the Besední dům in Brno will host a gala tasting to celebrate the announcement of the 28th Top 77 Czech Wines competition.

The evening features tastings of the highest-rated wines of the year, a generous buffet, and live cimbalom music by the ensemble Za Oponou.

About the venue: Besední dům

The Neo-Renaissance building on Komenského náměstí was built in 1870-1873 to designs by the Danish-Austrian architect Theophil von Hansen. From its opening it served as the cultural and social hub of Brno's Czech community - Leoš Janáček worked here as choirmaster for twelve years. On 29 October 1918 the founding of Czechoslovakia was proclaimed from its balcony. Today it is home to Filharmonie Brno and hosts symphonic and chamber concerts, balls and conferences.
